Fr. Steve joined the St. Benedict community as pastor in July, 2017. Prior to coming to St. Benedict he served as pastor at St. Ladislaus and St. Juliana parishes, as well as moderator of the Curia for the Chicago Archdiocese.
Fr. Tom is a priest for the archdiocese of Chicago. He comes from the pastoral center where he worked with international priests coming to Chicago. He now joins the St. Benedict team excited to share his experience in parish work for over 20 years.

Jeanne joined us in January 2022 with more than 25 years of experience in parish operations, fiscal management, and non-profit advancement. Her primary responsibilities include general operations and financial management for our campus, staff and ministries.

About Scott
Scott is a very successful pastoral musician. He has headed programs in large vibrant Catholic parishes in Chicago and Los Angeles. He is an accomplished pianist, organist and Choral Director. He has worked with both Adult and Children’s Choirs. He is also known for his recruitment skills in all aspects of parish life, and he has established well-known large-scale concert programs.
Scott has presently been working at Saints Viator and Wenceslaus parishes, but previously has worked here in Chicago at St. John Berchman, St. James in Arlington Heights, St. Nicholas in Evanston, St. Josaphat, and St. Clement.
While he was at St. Clement he worked on installing the historic organ they presently have, and which Jeremy Kiolbassa presently plays. One more special gift he brings to Church Music: he was one of Jeremy’s teachers. His influence blessed us with Jeremy. During this past year, he has been playing at our school Masses where he has brought an inspiring touch.
John joined St. Ben’s in June 2024 after serving as an office and property manager for a small community church in the Chicago area, where he was involved in all aspects of church operations. He will be involved in bookkeeping and assisting with operations projects. He is married to his wife Liz for over 35 years, has 4 adult children, and is a parishioner at All Saints Parish in Morton Grove.

About Kim
Kim McMillan has lived in Chicago and the surrounding community her whole life. She loves the city and it's vibrant community. Prior to coming to St. Benedict Parish, she ministered with St. Celestine Parish. Kim started in youth ministry as a volunteer and grew in competency and experience as she recognized ministry with young people was her calling. Kim received her certificate in Ministry from The Center for Ministry Development and when the Archdiocese of Chicago created Certification for Youth Ministry, she was the first to receive accreditation. She has worked with the National Association of Catholic Youth Ministers and has helped form Youth Ministers through The Institute for Catholic Youth Ministers. Her primary responsibilities include creating a Ministry with the parishioners of St. Benedict'sthat will support and encourage our young people to respond to the call of discipleship and involvement in this community of faith. Kim is married to Kevin and they have three sons.
Ellen Roberts was born and raised in the same house that her father grew up in on the North side of Chicago, near Humboldt Park and now resides in Des Plaines. Ellen has been a part of St Benedict’s Parish for the past seventeen years, starting out by being part of the A&E committee even before she became Catholic twelve years ago. Ellen worked in the Directional Marketing field of Yellow Pages Advertising for good number years until the company she was working with closed. While looking for a full time position she worked part time at St Ben’s Rectory as the Receptionist. Then almost two years ago Fr Jason hired her as the full time Parish Manager. Some of her responsibilities include recording all Sacramental records, contributions and updating all Parishioner information. Additional duties includeanswering the main telephone line for the entire campus, posting mail, and scheduling events in our calendar system along with other task that may cross her desk. Should you visit the Rectory you will see Ellen’s smiling face as you are greeted or hear her voice should you call St Benedict’s main number.
Mrs. Norma Vazquez was born and raised in the city of Chicago. She and her high school sweetheart have been married for 41 years. She has two kids and three grandchildren. Norma began her career in Executive Management and in Human Resources. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Loyola University and has graduated from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake with a Certification of Studies in Lay Leadership. Norma plans to continue her education. Norma has volunteered at St. John Berchmans Parish as a Catechist, a team member of RCIA/Parish Council, and she taught Children Liturgy. She has also taught religious education to Junior High students. The love Norma has for volunteering came from her deeper understanding of the importance in creating opportunities for real and personal encounters with God.
