Coming to St. Benedict on February 28th: the one-man play Damien by Aldyth Morris. Actor Wayne Messmer channels the powerful and inspirational stories of the challenges that Father Damien experienced while serving the community of the exiled lepers on the remote Hawaiian Island of Molokai in the 1870’s and 1880’s, until his own life was taken by the affliction on April 15, 1889 at the age of 49. Father Damien was canonized in a ceremony at the Vatican on October 11, 2009.

The Knights of Columbus at St. Benedict will conduct our annual “Tootsie Roll Drive” for intellectual disabilities after Masses on Sept 15th and 16th. Your donations fund the operating budget for the local chapter of SPREAD – a charity which ministers to Catholics with intellectual disabilities.
Last year, we raised $1,500 and we thank you for your continued generosity.
