Sunday, May 30th at 10am

If you have attended Mass in person recently, you have probably noticed the new piece of artwork at the side altar. This Icon is based on the famous depiction of The Holy Trinity by Russian iconographer Andrei Rublev. The original work dates back to the early to mid 1400s. This particular copy of the icon uses the same techniques that Rublev would have used centuries ago, including all natural pigments from the soil only found in certain parts of Eastern Europe. The iconographer, Sr. Nancy Lee Smith, travelled to Russia and the Ukraine to both study the original Icon and collect the raw materials with which she would create this piece. This Icon was gifted to St. Benedict Parish by the Kosnik Family, parishioners.

We will celebrate this great gift on The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, Sunday, May 30th at 10am. Bishop Mark Bartosic will be in attendance. Registration for the Mass will open on Monday, May 24th. Please visit the parish homepage to register, or call the rectory at 773-588-6484.
