Black Lives Matter: A Family Rally for Racial Justice
The Anti Racism Ministry for Families at St Benedict is hosting a rally to affirm and support families in our community. The event titled: Black Lives Matter: A Family Rally for Racial Justice at St Benedict Parish is being hosted with the intention of supporting equality for all and as a way to affirm and stand with the Black community. This event hopes to support parents and families as our community and city works to change the systems that add to inequality and systemic racism. We hope, through the rally, to share a simple message of experience, strength, and hope for families and especially, children of color. The Black Lives Matter: A Family Rally for Racial Justice would like to quiet the fear that children and families may be feeling in light of the protests in our city. We hope to offer hope by showing our parish community and our North Center neighborhood does in fact believe, Black Lives do Matter!
Attendance will be limited to those who have registered. Families must register by signing up below. Children must attend with a parent and tay with that adult at all times. All participants must adhere to social distance requirements and mask wearing at all times. We will chalk messages in our courtyard parking spaces (families should bring chalk). After gathering in the courtyard we will proceed to the 2200 Block of Irving Park and stand, spaced safely and socially distant, on both sides of the street with signs of affirmation and support for our families and our community confirming our belief that Black Lives Matter and justice and equality are values we stand for. The Rally begins at 2:00PM and will end at 3:30PM.
There will be NO parking in our parking lot.
