Breaking Open the Word: The Gospel of John Beginning October 27th

The trajectory of Dr. Kobus's academic and teaching life can be understood through a continuing fascination with one central figure: Jesus.

From his early study of Greek at Mundelein Seminary, through graduate studies at Loyola and Catholic Theological Union, his formation at Oxford, and 17 years of university teaching, the Gospel of John has remained a central source of theological inquiry.

His work seeks to bring John's profound theological vision into conversation with contemporary readers and students—to make the depths of John's Gospel more accessible while inviting others into the same question that has animated his own study:

Who really was—and is—Jesus?

Breaking Open the Word begins October 27th at 7:00 pm in the rectory of St Benedict Parish, 2215 Irving Park Rd.

Participants are invited to bring a bible, or we will have some on site. Our discussion will take place from 7:00-8:15pm.
