Opportunities for serving with Youth Ministry
The Catholic Church is known for its emphasis on justice and programs challenging people to express the love of Jesus Christ to the world, by serving others. As we serve, we grow in many ways; more empathy, more awareness, more concern and most importantly, in our relationship with Christ.
St Benedict’s Youth Ministry is offering young people (8th through High School) several opportunities to serve this spring.
Serve at FMSC on Friday, March 3rd from 5:30-9:30pm. We’ll be packing manna packs at FMSC from 7-8:45pm. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC hosts families and organizations who volunteer to pack manna packs for the hungry.
Serve at Gigi’s Playhouse on March 26th from 12:00-2:00. Gigi’s playhouse is building a world where individuals with Down syndrome are accepted and embraced in their families, schools, and communities.
Serve at Crayons to Cradles on April 15th from 3-4:30pm. Crayons to Cradles gathers and redistributes children’s items to families and places, where there is need.
Raise donations with Misericordia candy days, April 28,29th. More details to come. The Mission of Misericordia is to provide a continuum of care and support for children and adults of all faiths and cultures who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We will support the staff at Gigi's Playhouse 5K, race day in June. More details to come.
