Praying the Mass: Retreat for Ministers
PRAYING THE MASS
A morning retreat for liturgical ministers and parishioners
Saturday, January 25th at 10am
This year, instead of a keynote speaker, we are going to focus on The Mass itself. Our day of reflection will be centered around a “teaching Mass” in which the celebrant will explain in detail the individual parts of the liturgy as he enacts them. We will learn about both the theological and historical background of the entire celebration, and be able to ask questions and learn together.
After the Mass we’ll have lunch and further discuss what we just experienced. As liturgical ministers, we often get stuck in our own little world, but I think it is important to try and understand our role within the greater context of the liturgy.
This event is open to all, but those who currently serve as liturgical ministers are strongly encouraged to attend. .
The retreat will take place in our school chapel, located at 3911 N. Bell Ave.
Please arrive 15 minutes early. The chapel is located on the second floor of the school building. If you require elevator access, please let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
Please RSVP no later than January 20th so we can have an accurate count for lunch.
Suggested donation is $10 | There is no cost to attend, but a free-will offering will be taken up to help offset the cost of food.
