Join in the Parade of Saints on October 31st at the 10:00 Mass

Although Halloween has been embraced by the secular world, its foundations are rooted in Catholic tradition.

In the modern world, Halloween has become a favorite holiday with children and adults dressing as their favorite hero, ghoul or superstar but, Halloween has Catholic roots. The name itself comes from All Hallow’s Eve – that is, the Vigil of All Saints’ Day, when Catholics remember those who have gone before us to enter our heavenly home.

On October 31st this year, at the 10:00 Mass we’d like to celebrate Halloween by hosting a Parade of Saints. All children and adults are invited to dress as your favorite Saint. Children and Adults who are dressed as saints will be invited to walk in the Procession at the start of Mass and recess out, at the end of Mass.

This is a great opportunity for families to spend talking about the saints. You might choose the saint your child is named after or any other saint you both admire.

St Lucy, St Mother Teresa, St Joan of Arc, St Lawrence, St Stephen, St Thomas, St Cecelia, St Sebastian and all Holy woman and men, pray for us.
